Walter William Draper

JANUARY 15, 1963 – JANUARY 31, 2012

Walter William Draper, age 49, died unexpectedly on January 31, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Clark Draper, Jr. and his brother, Douglas. He is survived by his mother, Sue Blair Draper, and siblings Sara, John and Greg Draper, Jane Ashe and Ann Vaughn; their spouses, children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his devoted friend, Cathy Vaughn.

Born January 15, 1963, Walt was an ’81 graduate of Memorial High School, earned his degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant (P.T.A.) in ’89 and was in Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.

Walter was a brilliant, meticulous P.T.A. who helped hundreds of people to heal over the decades. He was a fine amateur guitarist who wrote striking, soulful compositions. He loved and found solace in the natural beauty of the Austin area. He will be remembered for his non-stop sense of humor, his encouragement to others and his lively, positive spirit.

Friends are invited to the visitation and memorial service today, Saturday February 4, 2012, from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm in the Hunters Creek Chapel of Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A Mass will be offered for him at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, Texas 77024 at a later date. The family will have a private burial later.
